Kenai - 32 miles from Beluga Bill's
Kenai has a wonderful array of small home town shops. Take a stroll through Kenai City Gardens and Parks. Leaf Hansen Memorial Park is located inside the city limits on Kenai Spur Highway. Cunningham Park, located off Beaver Loop Road, is excellent for viewing the Beluga Whales.

Soldotna - 12 miles from Beluga Bill's
Soldotna is home to the world record king salmon. Visit the National Wildlife Refuge Center. Take walk down the Kenai River Classic Fish Walk. The Visitor Center is located right beside the Kenai River Bridge, will have information for the entire area although Beluga Bill includes a Visitor's Guide in every room/cabin.

Nikiski / Captain Cook State Park - 37 miles from Beluga Bill's
There you'll find spectacular views of Cook Inlet, surrounding mountains and if the weather permits, a glimpse of Denali. You can also see off-shore oil rigs. Beaches are popular with agate hunters. Beluga and bird watching are great also. There is a hiking trail, beach combing and campfire circle. On the way back, stop at the North Peninsula Recreation Nikiski Pool at Mile 23.4. You'll find a 136' waterslide, hot tub, and an indoor warm water pool.

Clam Gulch / Ninilchik - 52 miles from Beluga Bill's
Clamming is the talk of the town at Clam Gulch. Check the tide books and see if it's right for clamming but you do need a sport fishing license to dig. Tour Ninilchik Village and see the first Russian Schoolhouse, the Melania Curtis Home, the Ninilchik Village Cache, the Village Store, the Sorenson/Tupper home, Bud Dietz Home and the old red house. All of these buildings were built in the late 1800's.

Homer - 90 miles from Beluga Bill's
A trip to Homer is a must. Homer is famous for it's many artist. You'll want to browse through the galleries. The Homer Spit offers a series of boardwalks with shops, charter services, food outlets, gift shops, etc. Sightseeing tours are available from The Spit which takes you to Halibut Cove, Seldovia, Bear Cove etc. Hike over 50 miles of back-country trails in the Kachemak Bay State Park. Drive up Skyline Drive for spectacular views of glaciers, mountains, volcanoes and the ocean.

Skilak Wildlife Recreation Area - 8 miles from Beluga Bill's
Take the Skilak Loop Road which loops south through the Skilak Wildlife Recreation Area to campgrounds, trails and fishing spots. This 19.1 mile road is a favorite of locals because of it's beauty and wildlife viewing.

Cooper Landing - 36 miles from Beluga Bill's
When you reach Cooper  Landing you'll want to get on one of the Kenai River Rafting trips for a beautiful trip down the famous Kenai River. Other activities in this area include horseback trips through the beautiful Cooper Landing Mountains, a Kenai Lake trip, kayaking, fly-fishing and hiking. Hike the Resurrection Trail t. o a wonderful waterfall called Juneau Falls. There are many more hiking trails in this area.

Seward - 83 miles from Beluga Bill's
When in Seward you will certainly want to visit the Alaska Sea Life Center and view the sea wildlife. Plan on taking one of the wildlife and glacier cruises through the Kenai Fjords National Park. Be sure and make reservations for those trips. See the Anchor Memorial honoring those who perished in the 1964 earthquake. Visit the Benny Benson Memorial at the lagoon. Benny designed the Alaska flag. Plus many other things to do and see in Seward.
